Ivan Charles Hurt, 79, of Pekin, passed away April 8, 2024, at the Hinsdale Hospital in Hinsdale, Illinois.
Ivan was born May 18, 1944, the son of Charles and Ruth (Hockett) Hurt in Carthage. He graduated from Carthage High School. On July 17, 1965, he was united in marriage to Donna Markey in Carthage. Ivan then served as a medic in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War. Ivan worked as a machinist for Caterpillar for over 40 years. He enjoyed tractor shows, flea markets, auctions and purchasing items on the Spoon River Drive.
Ivan is survived by his wife, Donna, of Pekin; a daughter, Cheryl (Nathan) Pribble of Canton, Illinois; grandchildren, Brandi and Crystal Dorsey, Heather Anske, and Miranda and Nate Pribble, Jr.; great grandchildren, Emery, Kasen, Oliver, Brayden, Adelyn and Ellie: siblings, Russell (Pat) Hurt, June Falatka and Sharon Rodvelt.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Margie.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Saturday afternoon, April 13, 2024 at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage with graveside services to follow at 2:30 PM at Franklin Cemetery east of Carthage. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to an animal shelter of the donor’s choice. Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
